Behaviour Technician (BT)
GENERAL
Employment is dependent upon the applicant holding a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate in accordance with Victorian State requirements for working with disabled individuals.

- Ability to adhere to organisational policies and procedures and to abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training to perform job responsibilities to the required standard.
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written instructions.
- Must maintain a professional appearance regarding clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
Basic & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 22kg
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behaviour Intervention Plan while working with children with challenging behaviour.
- Must have the manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, kindergarten, and community placements.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic device, and paper means.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the South-East suburbs of Melbourne.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License & car insurance.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree or be working towards a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, or related allied health field, OR
- A Bachelor’s degree or be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, speech pathology, occupational psychology, social work or related fields preferred but not essential, OR
- Must have at least a senior secondary certificate of education (VCE).
Experience
- Required: None.
- Preferred: Experience working with children ages 0-8 providing 1:1 in-home or Kindergarten setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis; Educational, Speech, or other Allied Health Services experience.
Related Training
- Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed but before starting work with a client including, but not limited to: First Aid, CPR, Police and Working With Children Checks, RBT trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed by employment supervisor.
