Aardvark Autism Services was started by Jayne Franklin
Autism therapy provider Melbourne driven by the need for services for young autistic children. We come with abundant empathy, passion, experience and knowledge and cannot wait to work with you and your child.
In-Home Setting
In-Home Therapy targets a combination of structured-style learning through Natural Environment Training (NET) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT). The home environment allows for generalisation of communicative, basic social, and self-help/adaptive skills embedded in real-life scenarios. In-Home services set children up for success with 1:1 support from a behaviour technician in a familiar, secure setting.
Kindergarten Setting
Support in the kindergarten setting allows for the skills learned in the home setting to be further generalised to other settings in the community. After learning skills in a secure, familiar environment, the child has sufficient mastery of the skill to practice and learn it in another less predictable environment with more distractions.
Parent/Family Training
Your child is with you for more hours of the day than they are with anyone else. You are well-positioned to continue to support your child in the most effective and supportive way. Parent training, offered by your program supervisor, will give you the tools and confidence you need to accomplish this. Parents are not expected to sit their child down and run formal ‘lessons’ but to maintain blossoming skills as they come up incidentally in day-to-day living.
